Everywhere I see the promotion of eating whole foods. I think that’s great, I would like to do so. But I don’t have any teeth, and three different sets of dentures suplied to me never fit properly-so I just wear them when I leave the house. So I chew with my gums.

Would love to eat a crispy apple or carrot, but can’t. I’ve often thought of putting these foods into a blender, (not sure about taste) but I suffer chronic back pain (from failed back surgery) and washing dishes is a chore that I can hardly do. I can’t/don’t want to wash more! I can’t stand up for more than an hour at a time, so it’s hard to cook food that’s not overcooked-mainly vegies, I eat a lot of them.

Would like to eat more fruit, but can only manage stuff from a tin-not sure of it’s nutritional value.

I take a lot of vitamin/mineral supplements.

Anyone else got problems with having dentures? (I also have a choking phobia!) Also on pension-scant money to pay for more dentures or fancy kitchen gadgets.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I know a few people who for various reasons blend all their food, it works well for them, but they are careful with fruits because of the generally high sugar levels.

For chronic back pain, consider reading Pete Egoscue's book Health Through Motion.

It has helped a lot of people.

All the best,

I’ve had a look on the internet for this book, as the Amazon site didn’t want to load properly, and I found people showing exercises from his program, so I’ll have a go at those for starters. The lady I’m going to follow is a physiotherapist, so thanks for this-I hope to have time on Thursday.

Every new thing I try hurts me, so I have to choose a day when I don’t have to do much!

Thanks again iya!
